Music is powerful. There is no denying it. Whether you love pop, country, jazz, rap, or blues. Music moves your soul. It can also help move our body and make your workout much more enjoyable.
So, why not incorporate music into your workouts? The speed or tempo of the music may boost your workout performance. The faster the music, the harder we tend to push ourselves.
Music for Cardio – Cardio workouts call for upbeat music. Think about finding music like pop anthem type songs to lift your energy level. Think of The Greatest by Sia, Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts, or This is What you Came For by Rhianna
Music for Lifting – When you are doing resistance training, music can boost your stamina and strength. Your first thought might be to listen to motivational hard rock music and you are right. Try songs like Eye of the Tiger by Survivor, Rock or Bust by AC/DC, or Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen
Music for Stretching – When you are doing yoga, stretching or cooling down, slow down the music. Instrumentals work as do inspirational ballads. Consider songs such as Photographs by Ed Sheeran, Record Year by Eric Church, or Almost Home by Mariah Carey
Of course finding that music that motivates you is most important. Have fun, try something new and then go Rock Out and get your Sweat On!
P.S. One word of caution. If you are listening to music while walking or running outside, keep on ear phone out so you can hear on-coming traffic.
