I am kind of a gadget freak. I love my technology. Some of it I use to keep my life organized, while some I have just out of curiosity. My latest gadget acquisition is my new Fitbit Charge HR. I love it because not only does it count my steps and flight of stairs, it keeps track of my heartrate and calories burned for the day. Maybe trivial information, but kind of fun all the same.
So, you may be asking yourself – “why would I need one of those?” Well, you really don’t. But the only way you will know how many steps your getting in a day is with a pedometer.
Consider this…the American Heart Association and several other health and fitness organization agree that we Americans don’t move enough. These organizations recommend walking 10,000 steps per day or the equivalent of 5 miles.
10,000 steps a day means you can lower your risk of disease, improve your mood and elevate your energy levels. Walking is low impact and fitting in a few extra steps here and there is relatively easy.
So, seriously…consider making the investment. Your heart will thank you.
I recommend either of these models. Both are user friendly. It all depends on what you want to track. I have owned both. Comment below if you have used one or if you have questions.
I recently got fit bit charge (not the (HR). Love that I can watch my steps per day and hold myself acccountable. The app is user friendly and very helpful too!!
